तुम (लोग) क्या करते हो यह मुझे मालूम है।
वे (लोग) कब आएंगे यह अनिश्चित है।
रवि दल्ली क्यों गया यह (एक) रहस्य है।
वह कब गयी यह पता नहीं है।
राहुल क्या करेगा यह तय नहीं है।
रंजना कहाँ पढ़ती है यह ज्ञात नहीं है।
वह क्यों हँस रहा है यह (एक) रहस्य है।
हम (लोग) क्या करेंगे यह तय नहीं है।
मैं कब जाऊंगा यह अनिश्चित है।
वह क्या सोचती है यह मैं जानता हूँ।
पृथ्वी गोल है यह सभी को मालूम है।
स्वास्थ्य ही धन है यह (एक) स्वीकृत तथ्य है।
वह ईमानदार है यह संदेह से परे है।
मैं इस काम को कैसे करूँगा यह मुझे मालूम नहीं है।
हमारा देश महान है यह सभी जानते है।

Vocabulary for Hindi to English Translation Exercise 153 of 255:
मालूम / पता / ज्ञात है – is known,
सभी को मालूम है / सभी जानते है – is known to all,
अनिश्चित – uncertain,
रहस्य – mystery,
तय नहीं है – is not decided,
स्वीकृत तथ्य – admittd fact,
संदेह से परे – beyond doubt,
मेधावी – intelligent,
मूर्ख – foolish,
स्पष्ट – clear,
सुन्दर – beautiful,
सच – true,
गलत – wrong,
जानना कठिन है – is difficult to know.

6. Subject के रूप में Clause:
Clause का अर्थ उपवाक्य होता है। Phrase की तरह ही Clause भी Sentence (वाक्य) का एक भाग (Part) होता है। Clause देखने में Sentence जैसा ही होता है क्योंकि Sentence की तरह ही इसके पास भी अपना Subject और Finite Verb होती है। परंतु Clause पूर्ण अर्थ (Complete Sense) नहीं दे पाता है जो कि Sentence देता है। जैसे:
Where he lives is not known.
ऊपर के Sentence में Where he lives एक Clause है जो Subject (कर्ता) के रूप में आया है।
अब इन वाक्यों को ध्यान से पढ़ें:
1. वह क्या करता है यह पता नहीं है। | What he does is not known. What he does isn’t known.

2. वह कहाँ जाता है यह (एक) रहस्य है। | Where he goes is a mystery. |
ऊपर के हिंदी वाक्यों में ‘यह’ के पहले आने वाले उपवाक्य ही वाक्य के वास्तविक कर्ता हैं। ऐसे वाक्यों के अंग्रेज़ी अनुवाद में ‘यह’ की अंग्रेज़ी (this / it) नहीं लिखी जाती है। यह भी याद रखें कि प्रश्नवाचक शब्द से प्रारंभ होने के बावजूद उपवाक्य का अनुवाद Assertive Sentence के शब्द – क्रम के अनुरूप ही होता है। प्रश्नवाचक शब्द से प्रारंभ नहीं होने पर उपवाक्य का प्रारंभ That से करना आवश्यक हो जाता है। जैसे:
राहुल निर्दोष है यह (एक) तथ्य है। | That Rahul is innocent is a fact. |
कुछ अन्य वाक्य देखे:
1. तुम लोग कहाँ रहते हो यह मुझे मालूम है। आप (लोग) कहाँ रहते है यह मुझे मालूम है। | Where you live is known to me.

2. रवि कहां गया है यह (एक) रहस्य है। | Where Rabi has gone is a mystery.
|
3. हम (लोग) कब लौटेंगे यह अनिश्चित है। | When we shall return is uncertain.
|
4. वह (स्त्री) गरीब है यह पता है। | That she is poor is known.
|
5. पृथ्वी गोल है यह सभी जानते है। | That the earth is round is known to all.
|
6. मैं जो कहता हूँ वह (एक) तथ्य है। | What I say is a fact.
|
7. वे लोग जो करते है वह (एक) रहस्य है। | What they do is a mystery.
|
8. वह कब वापस आएगा यह कोई नहीं जानता है। | When he will come back is not known to anyone. When he will come back isn’t known to anyone. When he will come back is not known to anybody. When he will come back isn’t known to anybody. When he will come back is known to none. When he will come back is known to no one. When he will come back is known to nobody. |
